Mission of Mercy
Mission of Mercy helps to meet the physical and spiritual needs of children in poverty-stricken areas of the world. Through their ministry programs, children receive food, education, medical aid and hope in Jesus Christ. Visit them on the web at http://www.missionofmercy.com/index.htm to learn how they impact the children and the nations. Founded in 1954 by the late Dr. Mark Buntain and his wife, Hulda, in Calcutta, India, Mission of Mercy is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There the ministry works in low income countries throughout the world to make a difference in children. Hulda continues to work in the India ministries. In 1990, Mission of Mercy merged with Bethesda Ministries. Today Mission of Mercy is working in more than 30 nations of the world, providing help and hope to more than 75,000 children and thousands of adults through its orphanages and childrens homes, primary and secondary schools, vocational training schools and nursing school, medical projects, humanitarian programs, child sponsorship program and disaster relief efforts.
The mission statement says that Mission of Mercy exists to equip children in developing nations to reach their God-given potential by creating opportunities for spiritual, physical, social, mental and emotional development. Because Jesus came to earth as a whole person, Mission of Mercy embraces the whole child, recognizing that holistic ministry has the greatest impact on a childs development. All five areas should be integrated to achieve the best results. They call this Holistic Child Development.
I invite you to participate with them in changing our world by touching the lives of thousands of children worldwide. At Mission of Mercy, that change happens one child at a time -- and it starts with you. You can support this ministry many ways: sponsor a child, donate time or money, spend time in prayer, and subscribe to their monthly newsletter Mercy Connections.
